SUMMARY:Dorset Players presents Swan Lake
DESCRIPTION:Swan Lake \nperformed by the \nGrand Kyiv Ballet of the Ukraine. \nThis is a fundraising event for the Ballet and the children of the Ukraine. \n\nSwan Lake” is a timeless love story that mixes magic\, tragedy\, and romance into four acts. It features Prince Siegfried and a lovely swan princess named Odette. Under the spell of a sorcerer\, Odette spends her days as a swan swimming on a lake of tears and her nights in her beautiful human form. \nThe couple quickly falls in love. As in most fairy tales\, things in the “Swan Lake” story are not that easy and the sorcerer has more tricks to play. That brings Odile\, his daughter\, into the picture. Confusion\, forgiveness\, and a happy ending with Siegfried and Odette together forever round off the ballet. \n\nFind our fundraising Auction at:  https://www.32auctions.com/DorsetPlayers2026 \n\n  \nPerformance Date and Time: \nMarch 6\, 2026 at 7:30PM

SUMMARY:Dorset Players presents The Gin Game
DESCRIPTION:The Gin Game – A Staged Reading \nBy D.L. Coburn \nDirected by Josh Bond \nProduced by Paul Michael Brinker \nPresenting Sponsor: Kitchens of Vermont \n\nThis winner of the 1978 Pulitzer Prize for Drama\, which originally starred Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn and was later revived with Julie Harris and Charles Durning\, uses a card game as a metaphor for life. Weller Martin is playing solitaire on the porch of a seedy nursing home. Enter Fonsia Dorsey\, a prim\, self-righteous lady. They discover they both dislike the home and enjoy gin rummy\, so they begin to play and to reveal intimate details of their lives. Fonsia wins every time\, and their secrets become weapons used against one another. Weller longs for a victory to counter a lifetime of defeats\, but it doesn’t happen. He leaves the stage a broken man\, and Fonsia realizes her self-righteous rigidity has led to an embittered\, lonely\, old age. \n\n  \nStaged Reading Dates & Times: \nMarch 13\, 2026 at 7:30PM \nMarch 15\, 2026 at 2PM
