SUMMARY:Bennington Garden Club’s 100th Anniversary Garden Tour in the Old Bennington Historic District
DESCRIPTION:A wonderful opportunity to stroll through the gardens and view flowering perennials\, shrubs\, annuals\, specimen trees\, garden structures\, water features\, statuary\, plus views that create the settings for the homes. The tour includes gardens that are rarely or never open to the public.  Most of the homes within the Historic District are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Note the house plaques with information about original owners at many front doors. Full descriptions of their historic significance will be available at most gardens. \nJune 21\, 10am to 4pm \n*One day only – rain or shine \n*Self-guided tour \n*Food trucks will be available at the Bennington Museum. \nTake a stroll from the Museum on the path to the Old First Church past Robert Frost’s grave.Learn about the town’s rich history from a local historian at the Old First Church at 11am & 2pm. Many gardens are within walking distance\, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the day. \nTickets available online for $30 in advance. $35 on the day of the tour.  Please note ticket purchases cannot be refunded. DESCRIPTION:Join Hike Dorset on their Longest Day 5k! Click here to register. \n\nWhen: June 21st\, 2025 at 9:00 AM (Plan to arrive between 8:00-8:30am) \n\nWhere: Parking at JK Adams Kitchen Store and Raptor Lane (across from the Dorset RV Park)\n\nParking will be limited so arrive early if possible. Overflow will be at Raptor Lane.\n\n$30 Registration fee. NO STROLLERS! NO DOGS! Sections of trail are single track technical. \n \nAll funds from this 5K will go towards the 2025 Hike Dorset summer crew. Each summer Hike Dorset hires a small crew to perform trail work\, trail building and repair\, invasive species removal\, water feature repair and maintenance\, and other tasks needed to maintain the beautiful parkland and forests of Dorset\, Vermont. \n\nBefore running (or walking) this 5K\, you will need to register and fill out liability waiver at the event. Waivers will be available at check-in on June 21st and must be filled out before participation.\n\nAnyone under 18 will need to have a parent or guardian sign the waiver.
