DESCRIPTION:GMALL Presents – New England Modernism: Revolutionary Architecture in the 20th Century\nFriday\, June 12 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Burr & Burton Academy\, Riley Center for the Arts\n\n\nGreen Mountain Academy is excited to bring the film screening of “New England Modernism: Revolutionary Architecture in the 20th Century” to Manchester. This documentary traces the origins of the modern movement in one of America’s most tradition-bound regions\, uncovering the bold experiments that still stand today. From celebrated masters to overlooked local pioneers\, the film profiles the architects who dared to reimagine how New Englanders lived — balancing the region’s deep conservatism with a restless progressive spirit and wrestling with its demanding climate and centuries-old building culture. What emerged was something extraordinary: a postwar design renaissance that produced landmark works at the domestic scale and beyond\, transforming New England into one of the world’s great destinations for modern architecture. Filmmakers Jake Gorst and Tracey Rennie Gorst will introduce the film. Tickets are $20 per person.
