The Dorset Historical Society Presents: “Paul Searls on Highway Construction”

Jun 17 2021 - Jun 17 2021 • Time: 12:00-1:00PM Education & History, For the Family, and Recreation & Fitness

The Dorset Historical Society welcomes Paul Searls on Highway Construction.

This Third-Thursday Lunch-Lecture on June 17, 2021 will feature Paul Searls, a professor at Northern Vermont University. The author of several books on Vermont history, Searls will discuss the decades-long debate over Route 7 and an adjacent road in the area between Pownal and Rutland, and with it, the rise of environmentalism in Vermont. Searls is currently at work on a book about this story and is eager to try out some of his ideas on an audience of local people.

The lecture will begin at noon and last about an hour. Attendees are invited to bring some lunch; desserts and drinks will be provided. The event is free and open to all comers!
